Lisketong to the Podcastage review it seems to have fairly amazing off-axis rejection (where things in front of the mic are loud, and things to the side, or behind, are really quiet)

I am sooo glad to see this! The initial thought in 2021 that I needed to do a “Video podcast” held me back for almost a year trying to get my podcast started. I wish I had just jumped in the way I originally planned.

I started my podcast Writer’s Voice with Francesca Rheannon in 2006. It was so early, I had to explain to people what a podcast is. I called it “TIVO for the Internet.” It features interviews with authors covering a wide range of topics such as literature, politics, and social issues. Still going strong in my 19th season.

We have licensed Clarity Vx for our podcast editing and using our Hindenburg Pro editing app, Clarity Vx will rarely open in Hindenburg Pro on any computer we have. Big disappointment because when it opens for use, it’s a very big help to us.

From that chart above, it looks like Interview shows have the most longevity by far. Particularly when looking at 50+ episodes. Or am I reading that chart wrong?

Thank you for the article, it was helpful and insightful. I currently podcast with my 13 year old so and a regular 8 year old nephew. I dont think the are diagnosed with ADHD but they are kids and have similar behavior. I have taken some the ideas you mentioned in the article. I had implemented some ideas you suggested so it made me feel I was on the right track.

I also read your article from last year about podcasts on Bandcamp. If you have a couple minutes I would love to pick your brain about bandcamp and podcasting with kids. You can sample our podcast: Chasing the Whimsy.

I used a standard game cotroller to edit video on Sony Vegas and navigate other software when had a bad back/shoulder injury a few years ago.
It was a real boon to avoid the elbow/shoulder movement when using a mouse, but I later bought a Kensington trackball which is also configurable and for me, beats a game controller into touch.

I am shocked that 42% of podcasters who participated in this survey are using AI. That is what I think the article should be. Just because its under 50% doesn’t mean it isn’t taking off. I think the fact that 42% of podcasters are using a tool that didn’t exist a year ago is crazy!
